Snipes Farm Evening Fire Fly Walk

This Evening's Walk Will be Led by One of Our Many Knowledgeable Naturalists at the Farm

Families and friends are invited to join naturalist, Pam Newitt, at beautiful Snipes Farm to learn about the fascinating world of fireflies.  We will learn about the different kinds of fireflies, how they communicate and how we can protect them.  After making a simple firefly catcher, we will head outside to examine them in the field.  All fireflies will be released unharmed.  This event will be cancelled in case of rain. 

Our Leader this evening will be Pam Newitt. who has a Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife Conservation from the University of Maryland.  She has been a professional Interpretive Naturalist since 1989. Pam was Education Chair on the Board of Trustees at Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve in New Hope for nearly 20 years and offers her experience in the field of bringing environmental education to all.

We Will Meet at the Big Red Barn at 7:30 pm.

Special requirements for dress or materials: Bring a flashlight or headlamp. This event is outdoors. Please dress for the weather. Wear footwear suitable for walking on the farm (closed toe footwear, no sandals) . Take necessary precautions for tick exposure.Wear clothing and footwear appropriate for a nighttime walk on uneven ground at the farm.  Insect repellent is recommended.
