About Our Summer Camp for Children ages 5-12

Campers are divided into age groups. Specials classes such as art and archery are done by age group, groups may combine for some activities and an older group may lead an for a younger group. Special guests come weekly to offer interactive performances, or to lead theme related activities. Learning happens everywhere all the time about nature, animals, botany, games, science and friendship. Campers, Counselors-in-Training, counselors, teachers and support staff make an amazing community together.

 

 

 

FARM EXPLORERS  June 17-21

Let’s have adventures in the creeks, woods, gardens and meadow! Each is filled with habitats with native plants, animals, insects and birds to discover. Let’s see how they all fit together into ecosystems and have fun along the way!

 

FOOD IS AMAZING  June 24-28

Food is our fuel and extra delicious when we’ve picked blueberries,veggies and herbs from the farm! We will eat out of the Children’s Garden and visit farm fields with farmers. We will meet the chickens at Cluckingham Palace and include their beautiful eggs in our cooking class recipe. We will be food detectives all week making delicious discoveries.

 

ANIMALS TAME AND WILD  July 1-5 (No camp on the 4th of July)

Our barnyard critters, bunk pets and wild animals all around us have a lot to teach us..How are their lives different? Who of the wild ones live here year-round and who migrates to other places? How do barnyard critters help the farm? Let’s find out together!

 

FARM STEM  July 8-12

Understanding farming and nature is fun and fascinating through STEM adventures! Experiments, building projects, finding patterns based in math and STEM flash challenges will make this week science special! 

 

NATURE ARTS AND CRAFTS  July 15-19

Artists are inspired by nature and we will be, too! There are materials all over the farm that we can use to make art and handcrafts. Drawing and painting can help us to notice details that we might miss otherwise. Let’s find simple ways to turn nature into art! 

 

COOKING CAPERS  July 22-26

Get ready to pick fresh farm food and enjoy recipes from around the world! Meet a guest chef and learn about culinary arts. Have adventures with herbs and spices! Learn some basic cooking techniques and science that helps our food to cook.

 

WATER WATER EVERYWHERE  July 29- Aug 2

Let’s learn about watersheds and the one we live in!  Let’s keep our eye to the sky and learn about water in all of its forms and weather . How can we use water wisely and care for our creeks? Let’s find critters in the creek and play in sprinklers to stay cool. Water will be our beverage of choice sometimes infused with beautiful fruit. There is so much to learn and to explore about the wonderful world of water!.

 

FARM OLYMPICS  Aug 5-9

We finish our camp season with games and challenges for all ages during Farm Olympics week. We will explore play around the world and sportsmanship. We finish with Farm Olympics field day-style. A fun day for everyone!
