Learn about the majestic falcon and the ancient art of falconry!

Date/Time: September 16, 2023 10 am

Cost: $15 per person, $45 for a family of 4

Join us at Snipes Farm for this special event where Gregory Wojtera will introduce us to falconry. The practice of keeping, training, flying falcons and other birds of prey has been a traditional art practiced for over 4000 years. Falconry has evolved to be more closely aligned with nature conservation and cultural heritage.  We will learn about the natural history and biology of our raptor species and enjoy a flight demonstration of these beautiful birds.

Please bring a lawn chair or blanket to enjoy this event in comfort. And don’t forget your camera and binoculars!

French native Gregory Wojtera is a Master Falconer who has worked with more than 55 raptors since 2010. He trains and flies hawks, falcons, and owls for a variety of purposes including hunting, falconry abatement (bird control) and education. He created Masters of the Skies in 2014 to educate the general public about birds of prey and falconry, and he has been working as a full-time falconer and educator since 2016.

Special requirements for dress or materials: While this event will be held in a mowed field, you are invited to also explore our beautiful nature trail and visit with our farm animals where long pants and closed-toed shoes are a must.
